Juleen Lam, PhD. Dr. is an Associate Professor in the Department of Public Health at California State University, East Bay. She also serves as the Executive Director for Project Rebound, a student support program on campus that recruits and supports students with lived experience being formerly incarcerated to obtain their undergraduate or graduate college degrees. With a background in environmental health sciences and epidemiology, her research focuses on environmental justice, chemical exposures, and public health policy. Dr. Lam has worked extensively at the intersection of science and community advocacy, and is deeply committed to advancing health equity, particularly for system-impacted and underserved populations. In addition to her work, Dr. Lam volunteers with Mount Tamalpais College teaching math and science classes to students incarcerated at San Quentin Rehabilitation Center who are working on their AA degrees as well as Canine Companions, an organization that provides highly trained service dogs at no cost to persons with disabilities. She is also a mom of two boys, three dogs, and a chinchilla and in her non-existent free time enjoys watching sports, rock climbing, and skateboarding.
