Stephanie M. Oana is an attorney and nonprofit consultant in private practice. She currently advises start-up and other small companies principally on formation, equity, licensing, and commercial transactions. She practiced for over 15 years with major international law firms, including Morrison & Forester (San Francisco, New York and Tokyo), Brown & Wood (now part of Sidley Austin, Tokyo) and Debevoise & Plimpton (New York). Her practice was primarily in corporate finance (private mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, international debt financings and joint ventures) but she also worked in the project finance and general corporate areas. Ms. Oana has been a trustee of a number of nonprofit organizations in the Bay Area, including Lutheran Social Services of Northern California, New Century Chamber Orchestra (where she currently serves on the Advisory Board) and Redwood Day School. She is a founding trustee of the Glenview Classical Series. She also served as board chair of Hong Kong Academy, an international school in Hong Kong where she lived for four years. She holds an AB in Chemistry from Harvard and Radcliffe Colleges, and a JD from the University of Michigan School of Law.
