Lhaga Dingpontsawa

Coordinator, Project WHAT!

Why do you do what you do?

I believe that community is at the root of activism, as well as any attempt of bringing about change, and that’s apparent at CW. This space not only welcomes, but encourages, people to think beyond the institutions that currently exist and it’s incredibly empowering!

As a program coordinator for Project WHAT!, I work alongside the PW team to create the curriculum for the upcoming program year where we spend time diving into various topics. Depending on what issues seem most appropriate at that moment, we offer our youth the opportunity to engage in spirited discussions with one another regarding these, generally complicated, topics. Some past programs have covered the prison industrial complex, voter suppression as well as how counties create their annual budgets. Project WHAT! offers our youth various opportunities to develop professionally as well as become more active members in their communities.

When I’m not at CW, you might find me at a local coffee shop trying to find the best oat milk latte in town, or spending time outside with my family and friends!
