Program Coordinator, One Family

Why do you do what you do?

Being a prison industrial complex abolitionist, I believe in our capacity to mend harm through networks of radical care rather than ruthless punishment—to evolve. Restorative justice enables our communities to do just that, equipping us with tools to nurture the interdependence, mutuality, respect, accountability, and compassion we all need to thrive while becoming the best versions of ourselves. Working at Community Works is a space to build a future shaped by these values alongside a community of people who believe another world is possible.

As the One Family Program Coordinator I facilitate contact visits with incarcerated parents and their children, working to break carceral reintegration barriers by ensuring system-impacted families can maintain critically formative connection with each other. Before coming to Community Works in April 2024, I developed TAY youth leadership around free college for all; community alternatives to police; corporate accountability; and environmental justice as a youth organizer at San Francisco Rising and Communities for a Better For Environment. I also co-designed and founded the NET Growth Movement Guaranteed Income Program for former foster youth aged 21 in Alameda County. I received my BA in Politics and Sociology from the University of San Francisco in 2022.

When I am not at CW, I am sunbathing in the grass while reading my favorite Toni Morrison book; catching a good sweat in dance class; getting grounded in yoga; or being in artful/playful/ community with my best friends.
